Rationale

Gisborne Montessori Pre-school is committed to provide a healthy environment for staff, children, parents, caregivers, whanau and visitors who come to our pre-school. A non- smoking policy is essential in all areas of the school.

Procedure

  • Signs are clearly displayed at every entry gate to the grounds or buildings entrance on the premises around the school, that the school is a smoke-free area.

  • The said Policy is clearly displayed in each foyer of the school.

  • At all working bees and/or private functions, occupants shall be made aware that we are 100 % smoke-free.

  • All complaints about smoking or about the ‘Policy’ will be made to the Principal.

  • All complaints will be dealt with by the Gisborne Montessori Pre-school Council.
